The shares of Vedanta Ltd have been buzzing on the bourses this week. The company’s shares are amongst the top gainers on the bourses. This week, the company announced its plans to set up a display fabrication and semiconductor manufacturing facility in Gujarat. The company intends to build this facility in partnership with Foxconn. It should be noted that this 60:40 venture will not be undertaken by Vedanta directly. Rather, it will be undertaken by its ultimate holding company - Volcan Investments. Vedanta & Foxconn shall make a combined investment of Rs 1.54 lakh crore to set up this facility, which will come up over the next two years. Today, the scrip opened at Rs 299 and touched an intraday high & low of Rs 299.90 & Rs 287, respectively.
Ambuja Cements Ltd
Shares of Ambuja Cements have been buzzing on the bourses this week due to an overall fall in the raw material cost. Moreover, this week, Holcim Ltd completed the sale of a 63.11% stake in Ambuja Cement to Adani Group. This transaction comprises Holcim’s entire 63.11% stake in Ambuja Cement, which owns a 50.05% interest in ACC, as well as its 4.48% direct stake in ACC. Switzerland based Holcim Ltd received USD 6.4 billion in cash proceeds for this sale. Today, the scrip opened at Rs 533.40 and touched an intraday high & low of Rs 550.15 & Rs 511.05, respectively.
Max Healthcare Institute Ltd
Shares of Max Healthcare Institute surged over 15% on the bourses this week. However, the company has not made any significant announcement of late. Hence, the rally in the share price of the company could be driven purely by market forces. Today, the scrip opened at Rs 443.90 and touched an intraday high & low of Rs 449.15 & Rs 434.45, respectively.
