Aegis Logistics Ltd, Birla Soft Ltd and Colgate-Palmolive (India) Ltd witnessed a volume burst in the last 75 minutes of the trade.

As the saying goes, the first, as well as the last hour of each trading session, is the most important and active in terms of price & volume.

More so, the activity in the last hour is said to be of utmost importance because most of the pro-traders and institutions are active at this time. Hence, when a stock sees a good spike in volume in the last leg of the trade along with price rise, it is considered a pro, and institutions have a keen interest in the stock. Market participants should keep a close watch on these stocks as they can witness good momentum in the short to medium-term.

So, based on this principle, we have shortlisted three stocks that have witnessed volume burst in the last leg of the trade along with price rise.

Aegis Logistics Ltd: The stock soared over 5% and with this, the stock recorded its fresh 52-week high. The stock opened at Rs 387.75 and thereafter, it made an intraday low of Rs 386.05 and then, there was no looking back as it went from strength to strength to close near the day’s high. The stock recorded the highest single-day volume in the last one month and interestingly, nearly 45% of the total trade volume of the day was recorded in the last 75 minutes. Any closing above today’s high will confirm a technical breakout which makes it attractive for the upcoming days.

Birla Soft Ltd: The stock after taking support around its prior trading session low, formed a sequence of higher highs and higher lows in the 75-minute time frame. The stock gained more than 3% on Monday. Also, it recorded the highest single-day volume in the last five trading sessions and the striking fact is that more than 25% of total trade volume was seen in the last leg of the trade. On the daily chart, the stock has managed to cross above its 20 DMA. Given such positivity, the stock is expected to be on traders’ radar for times to come.

Colgate-Palmolive (India) Ltd: The scrip soared about 2% during the day. After the initial activity, the stock turned sideways, however, momentum picked up in the afternoon session, but in the last leg of the trade, there was buying eruption as the stock witnessed more than 55% of total trade volume activity in the last 75 minutes of the trade. Interestingly, the stock has also reached the levels which were last seen in the latter part of December last year. Follow-up buying may witness in the next few sessions thus it is likely to be in focus for the next few days. Investors looking for an opportunity in the FMCG sector can add this stock to their watchlist.
