As the saying goes, the first and the last hour of each trading session is the most important and active in terms of price and volume. More so, the activity in the last hour is said to be of utmost importance because most of the pro traders and institutions are active at this time. Hence, when a stock sees a good spike in volume in the last leg of trade along with price rise it is said to be the pro and institutions have a keen interest in the stock. Market participants should keep a close watch on these stocks as they can witness good momentum in the short-medium term.
So, based on this principle we have shortlisted three stocks, which have witnessed volume burst in the last leg of trade along with price rise.
Aditya Birla Capital: The stock surged over 3% today with huge volatility. After today’s rally, the stock is all set to test its prior swing high level. Today, the stock lost the gained points in the afternoon but rallied about 2 per cent in the last 75 minutes. This price movement was backed by heavier volume which was nearly 50% of total day’s volume. This induced volume can be attributed to institutional buying. With buying emerging towards the end along with rising volumes, the stock is expected to trade positivity in coming days.
BASF India Limited: The stock scaled newer highs as the session progressed and surged over 6%. Towards the end, the stock gained a greater momentum as it gained over 3% in last 90 minutes. This was backed by increasing volumes which let the stock to propel higher. The volume recorded today was also more than 10 and 30-day average volume. With above average volume recorded, the stock is expected to be actively trading in near future.
Bharat Dynamics Limited: The stock of BDL rose nearly 4%. The stock opened marginally lower but soon gained momentum as the day progressed. Volume recorded was much higher today compared to the last 10 days. The stock showed no signs of slowing down towards the end and closed near day’s high. Because of such price action and good volumes, we can expect the stock to continue the same momentum on the higher side.
