At market close on Monday, the core equity indices plunged and settled lower as panic sell-off and inflation worries continue to hamper the investor sentiments.
The Sensex ended at 56,788.81 down by 638.11 points or 1.11% and the Nifty 50 closed at 16.887.35 lower by 207 points or 1.21%. The shares of DR Reddy’s Laboratories, Bharti Airtel, NTPC, and Wipro were some of the top gainers on the Sensex today.
On the BSE, 129 stocks have made their 52-week high whereas 64 stocks reached their 52-week lows today. Out of the 3,704 stocks traded, on the BSE today, 1,356stocks have advanced, 2,194 shares have declined whereas 154 stocks remained unchanged.

Bajaj Auto Limited: Even though exports decreased in comparison to a year earlier, Bajaj Auto recorded an increase in domestic sales in the month of September 2022. Although exports decreased to 1,40,083 units from 2,09,673 units in the same period, the business recorded cumulative domestic sales of 2,54,664 units, up 32% from 1,92,348 units in September 2021. The total number of units sold across all markets was 3,94,747, a decrease of 1.7% over August 2022 and 2% over the previous year.Domestic two-wheeler sales, meanwhile, increased by 28% from September 2021 to 2,22,912 units. However, two-wheeler exports decreased by 33% from 1,87,091 units in September of previous year to 1,25,443 units in September of this year. The shares of the company ended 0.33% lower, on the BSE.
Mahindra & Mahindra Limited: Mahindra & Mahindra announced on Monday that its sports utility vehicle segment saw its highest-ever monthly wholesales of 64,486 cars in September.In comparison to the same period last year, the company saw a two-fold increase. In September 2021, it had dispatched a total of 28,112 passenger and commercial cars in local and foreign markets..The shares of the company, ended 3.19% higher, at Rs 1251.50 on the BSE today.
