L&T Construction bags a significant order from National High Speed Rail Corporation Ltd
The project alignment passes through Vadodara, Gujarat and the cumulative value of this order falls within the range of Rs 1000 to Rs 2500 crore.
Larsen & Toubro Ltd (L&T), an Indian multinational engaged in engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) Projects, Hi-Tech manufacturing and services, announced today that its construction arm has secured a significant order from National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL).
In this project, L&T’s construction arm shall undertake the designing and construction of Package No. - MAHSR-C-5 of the Mumbai Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Project, which is the first high-speed rail corridor being implemented in the country.
The project scope comprises the design and construction of civil and building works for a double line high-speed railway of a length of 8.198 Km (Chainage 373.700 to Chainage 401.898). It also includes the major station of Vadodara, confirmation car base, viaduct and bridges, crossing bridges, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) and other associated works.
While this project is scheduled to be completed within 49 months, the company is also in charge of executing two other packages (MAHSR – C-4 and MAHSR C-6) of the high-speed corridor. The cumulative value of this order falls within the range of Rs 1000 to Rs 2500 crore.
On the strategic front, the company continues to keep a sharp focus on the efficient execution of its large order book, enhancing its working capital management, improving operational efficiencies by optimizing costs via the use of digital technologies and having a robust balance sheet.
Reacting to this development, at 3.02 pm, the share price of Larsen & Toubro Ltd (L&T) was trading at Rs 1956.25, which was an increase of 2.7% from the previous day’s closing price of Rs 1904.75 on BSE.
