Nifty 50 opened higher on Tuesday amid strong global cues. In this article, we would be listing top stocks witnessing strong price volume breakout.
Nifty 50 opened higher on a buoyant note at 18,524.4 as against its previous close of 18,497.15. This was a result of strong global and domestic cues. On Monday, key Wall Street indices jumped due to strong gains in heavyweights like Microsoft and Pfizer. However, all eyes are on the CPI inflation print that is slated to release on Tuesday. Moreover, even the two-day US FOMC policy meeting would be starting later today.
Nasdaq Composite rose 1.26%, Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 1.58%, and S&P 500 climbed 1.43% in overnight trade. The indices registered their biggest single-day jump since November 30. Asian markets traded mixed in early trade on Tuesday, tracking the overnight trading on Wall Street.
At 11:50 a.m., Nifty 50 was trading at 18,587.1, up by 89.95 points or 0.49%. Broader market indices are underperforming the frontline indices. Nifty Mid-Cap 100 index and Nifty Small-Cap 100 index is trading up by 0.27% and 0.24%, respectively.
On BSE, the advance-decline ratio was positive with 2090 stocks advancing, 1279 declining and 151 remaining unchanged. On the sectoral front, apart from realty, FMCG, and pharma, all other sectors traded in the green.
According to the data as on December 12, FIIs were net sellers and DIIs were net buyers. Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) sold shares to the tune of Rs 138.81 crore. Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) bought shares worth Rs 695.6 crore.
