Sensex widens the winning run to a 5th consecutive session, led by power and utility stocks. 

Indian benchmark indices fluctuated between moderate gains and losses in the face of Asian market weakness. However, after recouping early losses, the Sensex and Nifty 50 have regained their respective 58,000 and 17,300 levels.

The BSE Sensex gained 0.04% to 58,136.36 level, while the Nifty 50 index gained 0.03% to 17,345.45 level. GFL Ltd kept bulls busy in the small-cap sector, with shares rising more than 19% in an otherwise lacklustre market.

BSE Power was the session's top gainer, with gains of more than 2% led by JSW Energy and Adani Transmission, while BSE Realty was the session's top dragger. Additionally, gains were seen in utilities and consumer goods stocks. Following the release of financial data for the quarter ending June 2022, Zomato shares soared and are locked up in a 20% upper circuit.

The auction for the 5G spectrum has ended, with the government receiving offers totalling more than Rs 1.5 lakh crore. With bids totalling more than Rs 88,000 crore, Reliance Jio, the telecom unit of Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), is the largest acquirer of the 5G spectrum.
