The Indian benchmark indices were trading higher with BSE Utilities Index and BSE Power Index being the top-gaining sectoral indices.

On Tuesday, the benchmark indices were trading higher with Sensex up around 240 points or 0.32% at 61,334 and the Nifty trading up by 70 points or 0.38% at 18,135.

About 2,179 shares have advanced, 1,314 have declined and 136 were unchanged on BSE.

Top Gainer & Losers on BSE: 

 Power Grid Corporation of India, Nestle India and Larsen & Toubro were the top Sensex gainers today, while Kotak Bank, Sun Pharmaceuticals and Tata Motors were the top Sensex loser.

The indices traded in a higher manner in the broader markets, with the BSE Mid-cap index up by 0.61% and the BSE Small-cap index up by 0.71%, respectively. The top mid-cap gainers are Adani Power and IDFC First Cry Bank, while the top small-cap gainers were Data Matics Global Services and TCNS Clothing Ltd.

The indices were trading in green on the sectoral front, with the BSE Utilities Index and BSE Power Index leading the gainers and there were no single sectoral indices in red today. The BSE Utilities Index soared by 1.60%, led by Adani Green Energy and Adani Power whereas BSE Power Index soared by 1.50% led by Adani Power and Adani Transmission.
