The Indian benchmark indices were trading lower with BSE Utilities Index shining among all the sectoral indices, up by 0.51%. 

On Friday, the benchmark indices were trading down with Sensex down around 765 points or 1.28% at 50,031.15, and the Nifty trading down by 215 points or 1.21% at 17,378.85. 

Top Gainer & Losers on BSE

Maruti Suzuki, Bharti Airtel and Tata Motors were the top Sensex gainers today, while Housing Development Finance Corporation, Axis Bank and HDFC Bank were the top Sensex loser. 

The indices traded in a lower manner in the broader markets, with the BSE Mid-cap index plunging by 0.93% and the BSE Small-cap index plunging by 0.61%, respectively. The top mid-cap gainers were PB Fintech and Hindustan Aeronautics, while the top small-cap gainers were Deep Polymers and KMC Specialty Hospitals.

The indices were trading mixed on the sectoral front, with the BSE Utilities Index leading the gainers and BSE Financial Services Index leading the losers. The BSE Utilities Index soared by 0.51%, led by Adani Transmission and Adani Green Energy while the BSE Financial Services Index plunged by 1.85%, dragged down by Equities Small Finance Bank and Canara Bank.
