Indian equity market was trading lower and outperforming sectoral indices was BSE Telecommunication Index

On Monday, the benchmark indices were trading lower with Sensex down around 410 points or 0.67% at 60,431.75, and the Nifty trading down by 120 points or 0.67% at 17,733.30. About 1,799 shares have advanced, 1,566 declined, and 222 are unchanged on the BSE on the BSE.

Top gainers and losers on BSE Sensex are as follows:


The top Sensex gainers were Indusind Bank Ltd, ITC Ltd and Axis Bank whereas the top Sensex losers were Kotak Mahindra Bank, Tata Steel and Infosys.

On a sectoral basis, the BSE Telecommunication Index was the top gainer, while the BSE Metals Index was the top loser. The BSE Telecommunication Index rose 3.39%, led by Vodafone Idea Ltd and Indus Tower Ltd while the BSE Metals Index fell 1.38%, dragged by Hindustan Zinc Ltd and Jindal Steel Ltd.

The indices in the broader markets were trading higher, with the BSE Midcap index up 0.41% and the BSE Small cap index up 0.60%, respectively. The top mid-cap gainers were Vodafone Idea Ltd and Mahindra & Mahindra Finance Ltd, while the top small-cap gainers were Chaman Lal Setia Exports Ltd.
