Low Price Shares locked in Upper Circuit on 07-October-2022

On Friday, the domestic benchmark indices started lower amid mixed global cues which led the key indices Nifty to decline over 50 points to trade below 17,300 levels and the BSE Sensex dropped over 250 points to trade at 57,968 levels. 

Owing to the rising crude oil prices, the domestic currency depreciated 33 paise to touch a record low of 82.22 against the US dollar. Towards the noon session, the stocks of Titan, Maruti Suzuki, Bharti Airtel, Reliance Industries and Powergrid Corporation were the top gainers whereas Ultratech Cement, SBI, Axis Bank, Mahindra & Mahindra and TCS were the top losers.

On the sectoral front, all sectors traded lower with the BSE Consumer Durables sector on the forefront, zooming beyond 1%. Titan, Bluestar Company and Sheela Foam were the top consumer durables stocks within the BSE Consumer Durables Index. Meanwhile, at noon, the broader markets were trading lower with Nifty MidCap 100 and Nifty SmallCap 100 indices contracting up to 0.8%.

In a dull market, the shares of Titan gained over 6% after the company said that the overall sales grew by 18% on a YoY basis in the business update for Q2FY23. On the other hand, the shares of Varroc Engineering rattled 9% despite the company announcing the completion of divestment of the 4-wheeler lighting business in the Americas and Europe.
