List of Top 10 Penny Stocks: These Shares Gained Up To 9% on Thursday, March 24

Today NIFTY MEDIA was the best performing index and NIFTY PRIVATE BANK was the worst-performing index.

On the weekly expiry day, the Indian equity market saw a volatile trade. The 30-share pack Sensex declined 89.14 points or 0.15% to close at 57,595.68. Its broader peer NSE Nifty fell 22.90 points or 0.13% to 17,222.75. It opened at 17094.95 against the previous close of 17245.65, which means a gap down of 150.70 points. However, it recovered in the course of the day only to fall once again.

In today’s trade, the best performing index was NIFTY MEDIA, it was up by 5.91%. This is followed by NIFTY METAL, which was up by 1.54%. The worst performing index in today's trade was NIFTY PRIVATE BANK. It was down by 1.79 per cent. Out of total 10.0 companies forming part of the index, 9.0 companies closed in red.

Companies that supported Nifty 50 in today’s trade were 'Reliance Industries', 'Infosys', 'TCS', 'JSW Steel' and 'Dr Reddys Labs' together they contributed around 52.99 points gain in index. While the companies that dragged the index were 'Kotak Mahindra', 'Titan Company', 'HDFC', 'ICICI Bank' and 'HDFC Bank'. These companies contributed 80.96 points towards the fall of Nifty 50.

Overall market today was in favour of decline. At close advance to decline ratio stood at 223:263.
