AGS Transact Technologies IPO Lists Flat; Closes Lower

AGS Transact Technologies had a flat listing on 31st January 2022 and listed on the NSE exactly at the issue price of Rs.175. Despite a flat listing, the stock did manage to edge higher after the listing in the morning. At the end of Day-1, the stock of AGS Transact Technologies closed below the IPO issue price on 31-January 2022.

With 7.79 times subscription and with limited and tepid action in the grey market, AGS Transact Technologies was expected to list flat or at a discount to the issue price. The IPO price was fixed at the upper end of the band at Rs.175 which was not too surprising considering that the issue was subscribed 7.79 times overall with reasonable interest coming from the Retail, HNI and the QIB segment.

The price band for the AGS Transact Technologies IPO was Rs.166 to Rs.175. On 31st Jan, the stock of AGS Transact Technologies listed on the NSE at a price of Rs.175; exactly at the IPO price fixed. On the BSE, the stock listed at Rs.176 a premium of 0.57% over the issue price.

On the NSE, AGS Transact Technologies closed on 31st Jan at a price level of Rs.160.50, a first day closing discount of (-8.29%) on the issue price of Rs.175. The closing price was (-8.29%) below the listing price due to a flat listing of the stock.

On the BSE, the stock closed at Rs.161.30, a first day closing discount of (-7.83)% on the issue price, but the stock closed (-8.35%) below the listing price. On both the exchanges, the stock listed flat or at a small premium to the issue price but later lost the momentum and closed the day at a discount to the issue price and the opening price.

On Day-1 of listing, AGS Transact Technologies touched a high of Rs.181.85 on the NSE and a low of Rs.154, losing some steam after a flat opening in the morning. On Day-1 of listing, the AGS Transact Technologies stock traded a total of 176.55 lakh shares on NSE amounting to value of Rs.301.29 crore.

On 31-Jan, AGS Transact Technologies was not amongst the most active stocks on the NSE either in terms of number of shares or of value traded.

On the BSE, AGS Transact Technologies touched a high of Rs.181.85 and a low of Rs.153.80, losing a good deal of the early morning gains.
