Zee Demands ₹750 Crore from Sony for Calling Off $10 Billion Merger
This Week Schedule: Upcoming Dividends, Bonuses, and Stock Splits
Shares of several companies shares, including Infosys, ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company, and L&T Tech Services, among others, are scheduled to trade ex-dividend.
The ex-dividend date is the day when a stock's price adjusts to account for an upcoming dividend payment. On or after this date, new buyers of the stock will not receive the next dividend. Dividends are paid to shareholders whose names appear on the company's list by the record date.
Stock Split:
A stock split is a corporate action in which a company increases the number of its shares while reducing their individual value. This is done to boost liquidity and make shares more affordable to investors. The total value of all shares remains the same after a split, as the split does not change the company's overall value.
Bonus Issue:
A bonus issue is a corporate action in which existing shareholders are offered additional shares in the company at no cost. Instead of increasing dividend payouts, the company distributes additional shares to its shareholders, often in a specific ratio.
