Great Eastern Shipping Company, IRB and Housing and Urban Development Corporation witnessed a volume burst in the last 75 minutes of the trade.

As the saying goes, the first, as well as the last hour of each trading session, is the most important and active in terms of price & volume.

More so, the activity in the last hour is said to be of utmost importance because most of the pro-traders and institutions are active at this time. Hence, when a stock sees a good spike in volume in the last leg of the trade along with a price rise, it is considered a pro, and institutions have a keen interest in the stock. Market participants should keep a close watch on these stocks as they can witness good momentum in the short to medium-term.

So, based on this principle, we have shortlisted three stocks that have witnessed volume burst in the last leg of the trade along with price rise.

Great Eastern Shipping Corporation: The stock surged 8.70% at the end of the day. Most of the gains were recorded in the last 75 minutes when massive buying was witnessed. The daily volume turned out to be greater than the 30-day and 50-day average volume. It has hit a fresh 52-week high level and is expected to trade positively in the next trading session.

IRB: After many days of consolidation, the scrip registered a strong price volume breakout as it soared over 8% amid strong buying sentiment. Over 80 lakh shares have been traded on Monday which has been the highest in many days. About 50% of today’s volume was registered in the last hour. With such strong trading activity emerging in the latter stages, we expect it to be traded heavily in times to come.

Housing and Urban Development Corporation: The stock continued its stronger uptrend and has jumped 5.66% today. The volumes have been massive lately which indicated fresh buying sentiment. It continued to trend higher as the day progressed and volumes were seen rising. With such positive sentiment, the stock is likely to perform better in upcoming trading sessions.
