Opening Movers: Indian markets trade in green; IT, metal and pharma stocks rise

APAC markets lead gains owing to easing pressure of recession and inflation from the US markets.

On Thursday morning, the benchmark equity indices rose for the seventh consecutive session, following the rally on Wall Street and as investors move on from the tensions over U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s controversial visit to Taiwan.

Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index jumped more than 2% earlier in the session and was last up 1.45%. The Hang Seng Tech index rose 2.21%, with shares of Alibaba popping around 4% ahead of its earnings results.

The Sensex is at 58,535.01, up by 184.48 points or 0.32% whereas the Nifty 50 is trading at 17,435.15 up by 47 points 27%, since the last trading session. Nifty Bank was also up and trading higher by 0.16% at 38,048.45.

BSE Midcap was trading at 24,474.73, up by 0.36% and BSE Smallcap was at 27,695.08 up by 0.81%. The top gainers of BSE Midcap were Jindal Steel and Power, AU Small Finance Bank, Mphasis, and Adani Power, Whereas the shares of Subex, Take Solutions, Fineotex Chemicals, and Borosil were shining bright under the BSE Smallcap umbrella.

The top gainers on the frontline indices this morning were Infosys, Wipro, Tata Steel, Sun Pharmaceuticals, HCL Technologies, and Larsen and Toubro. Whereas the top losers are NTPC, SBI, Reliance Industries, Titan Company, Bharti Airtel, and Maruti Suzuki.

On the BSE, 2002 shares have advanced, 956 shares have declined and 146 are unchanged. Also,149 stocks have hit their upper circuit and 96 stocks have hit their lower circuit.

The top trending stocks on BSE, this morning are Adani Enterprises, Deepak Fertilizers, Macrotech Developers (Lodha), Adani Power, Metro Brands, and Mahindra & Mahindra.

The shares of Macrotech Developers, Tata Consumer Products, Adani Power, and Idea witnessed high turnover this morning

On the sectoral front, the BSE IT index is up by 1.47%, BSE Metal is up by 1.73%, and BSE Healthcare is trading almost a per cent higher on the bourses.
