Nifty 50 witnessed a strong opening at 18,871.95, recording a new all-time high as against yesterday’s closing of 18,758.35. This was amid strong global cues. On Wednesday, key Wall Street indices rejoiced as Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell signalled the rate hikes to slow down as soon as next month.
This led big tech companies to green, while treasury yield tumbled. Tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite gained 4.41%, Dow Jones Jumped 2.18%, and S&P 500 climbed 3.09% in overnight trade.
At 09:24 a.m., Nifty 50 was trading higher at 18,874.8, up by 116.45 points or 0.62%. Broader markets performed mixed when compared to large-cap indices. Nifty Mid-Cap 100 Index was up by 0.2%. Nifty Small-Cap 100 index was trading in line with the Nifty 50 gaining 0.6%.
According to the data as on November 30, FIIs were net buyers and DIIs were net sellers. Foreign Institutional Investors (FII) bought shares worth Rs 9,010.41 crore. Domestic Institutional Investors (DII) sold shares to the tune of Rs 4,056.4 crore.
