The Indian benchmark indices were trading higher with BSE Consumer Durables Index being the top-gaining sector whereas BSE Metals Index was the top-losing sectoral index. 

On Wednesday, the benchmark indices were trading higher with Sensex up around 98 points or 0.17% at 62,080 and the Nifty trading up by 32 points or 0.18% at 18,379. 

About 1,848 shares have advanced, 1,373 have declined and 144 were unchanged on BSE. 

Top Gainer & Losers on BSE: 

Power Grid Corporation of India, Maruti Suzuki and Sun Pharmaceuticals were the top Sensex gainers today, while HDFC Bank, Tata Motors and IndusInd Bank were the top Sensex loser. 

The indices traded in a higher manner in the broader markets, with the BSE Mid-cap index up by 0.40% and the BSE Small-cap index up by 0.50%, respectively. The top mid-cap gainers are Deepak Nitrate and Bajaj Holdings & Investments, while the top small-cap gainers were Deep Industries and Sudarshan Chemical Industries.

The indices were trading mixed on the sectoral front, with the BSE Consumer Durables Index leading the gainers and BSE Metals Index being the losing sector. The BSE Consumer Durables Index soared by 1.50%, led by Dixon Technologies India Ltd and Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd whereas BSE Metals Index plunged by 0.15% dragged down by Hindalco Industries Ltd and APL Apollo Tubes Ltd. 

In the pre-opening session, these 3 stocks were trending: Schneider Electric Infrastructure Ltd, Adani Transmission and Biocon Ltd.
