Domestic benchmark indices were trading lower with BSE Utilities Index trending among all sectoral indices.

On Friday, the benchmark indices were trading lower with Sensex down around 666 points or 1.12% at 59,139.12, and the Nifty trading down by 177 points or 1% at 17,413.30. About 1,261 shares have advanced, 1,902 declined, and 1312 are unchanged on the BSE.

Top gainers and losers On BSE Sensex Index are as follows: 
The top Sensex gainers were ITC, Tata Motors and NTPC Ltd whereas the top Sensex losers were Larsen & Toubro, HDFC Bank and Axis Bank.

The BSE Utilities Index was the top gaining among the sectorial indices and BSE Bankex Index was the top losing sector. The BSE Utilities Index soared 0.85%, led by Adani Transmission and Adani Green Energy while the BSE Bankex Index was down 1.81% dragged down by HDFC Bank and Bank of Baroda.

The indices in the broader markets were trading lower, with the BSE Midcap index down 0.88% and the BSE Small cap index down 0.44%, respectively. The top mid-cap gainers were Adani Power and Endurance Technologies while the top small-cap gainers were Sequent Scientific and Deep Polyners.
