Low Price Shares locked in Upper Circuit on July 06

Domestic indices trade higher despite weak global cues.   

The looming recession and its potential effects on the economy led Asian markets to crash on Wednesday. China's Shanghai SE Composite dropped by almost 2%, while Taiwan's TSEC 50 Index and Hong Kong's Hang Seng plunged over 2.5% each.

SGX Nifty indicated a positive opening for the broader index in India with a gain of 68 points. Expectedly, Indian benchmark indices were trading higher. At 12:35 pm, the Nifty 50 was trading at the 15,921.95 level, jumping by 0.70%. On the Nifty 50 index, the top gainers were Bajaj Finance, Britannia Industries Ltd and Hero Motocorp whereas Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, NTPC Ltd and Hindalco Industries were the top losers of the session.   

Sensex was trading at a level of 53,587.18, surged by 0.85%. The stocks trading in the green were Bajaj Finance, Hindustan Unilever Ltd and Asian Paints whereas NTPC Ltd, Power Grid Corporation of India and Reliance Industries were the market draggers.   

As fears about a worldwide recession continue to dampen the commodity demand, copper dropped to its lowest level in 17 months and metals saw their losses widen. Sectoral index BSE Metals slumped over 1.5-2%. On the other side, gold prices rose in the international markets, following a selloff in the previous session.
