After the Indian equity market closed deep down in red on the first trading of the week, today equity market closed up with a green mark. Besides, all sectoral indices closed on a positive note.

In today’s trade Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex indices closed up by 156.65 points i.e., 0.94% and 497.00 points i.e., 0.89%, respectively. Stocks that supported BSE Sensex to pull the index up were Reliance Industries Ltd, ICICI Bank Ltd, HDFC Bank Ltd and HCL Tech Ltd. Stocks that dragged the BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 down were Bajaj Finance Ltd, Power Grid Corp Ltd, Axis Bank Ltd and State Bank of India Ltd. The BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 Index opened up by 0.89% and 0.96% respectively from their previous close.

In Tuesday's trading session the S&P BSE Metal, S&P BSE Consumer Durables, S&P BSE Basic Materials, S&P BSE TECk, S&P BSE SmallCap Select Index and S&P BSE Realty were top gainers. BSE Metal index consisting of stocks such as Vedanta Ltd, Steel Authority of India Ltd, Jindal Steel & Power Ld, Apl Apollo Tubes Ltd, Tata Steel Ltd and Hindalco Industries Ltd were the top gainers.
