The gainers in the Sensex pack are HCL Technologies, HDFC Ltd, Reliance Industries, NTPC, and Infosys. On the flip side, the top 5 losers were Tata Steel, Bharti Airtel, Asian Paints, Bajaj Finance, and Kotak Mahindra Bank. 

The Nifty Midcap 100 index is trading at 31,478 and is up by 0.34%. The top 3 gainers of the index were Coforge Ltd, Dhani Services, and AU Small Finance Bank. Each of these scrips was up by 4%. Similarly, the top 3 stocks dragging the index were Vodafone Idea (down by 13.5%), GMR Infrastructure, and Steel Authority of India (SAIL). 

The Nifty Smallcap 100 index is trading at 11,681, up by 0.36%. The top 3 gainers of the index were Just Dial, BASF India, and Alok industries. Each of these scrips was up by more than 6%. The top 3 stocks dragging the index were Vodafone Idea, Ujjivan Small Finance Bank, and Chambal Fertilizers and Chemicals. 

The sectoral indices on the NSE followed suit, with Nifty Metal being down by 1.23% and Nifty Oil and Gas being down by 2.03%. 

 The rising inflation and tighter restrictions by the State governments are leading people to hoard supplies, eventually putting a strain on the supply-demand cycle of commodities and FMCG goods.
