List of top 5 gainers and losers in the midcap and smallcap segment for the week from March 10 to March 16, 2023.

The frontline index S&P BSE Sensex declined 2.54% or 1500.29 points during the week and closed at 57,634.84 on March 16, 2023.

The fall was broad based during the week with S&P BSE Mid Cap declining by 2.34% at 24,042.13. While, the S&P BSE Small Cap ended at 26,980.75 declining 3.48%.

The biggest gainer in the mid-cap segment for the week was Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. Shares of this TV broadcasting company rose by 6.66% for the week from the levels of Rs 193.65 to Rs 206.55. According to a Bloomberg report, Zee Entertainment Enterprises has agreed to pay IndusInd Bank's debts, and the lender is expected to dismiss the insolvency case filed against it. According to Bloomberg, the repayment of around USD 10 million to the lender could come as soon as Friday, and the Mumbai-based bank has promised to withdraw its insolvency proceedings against the media company once the repayment is made.

The losers of small-cap space were led by Brightcom Group Ltd. The shares of this IT-enabled services company fell from Rs 21.22 to Rs 17.44 registering a loss of 17.81% in the stock price. The stock hit its 52-week low on March 16.
