Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) reported 25% decline in net profit at ₹484 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2024. The firm declared final dividend of 25 paise for equity share of ₹2 face value for FY24.
Quarter Result Performance
Bharat Heavy Electricals reported a net profit of ₹658 crore in the latest quarter, according to a regulatory filing. The company's revenue from operations grew slightly by 0.4% to ₹8,260.3 crore, compared to ₹8,227 crore in the same period last year.
The company's operating earnings, as measured by EBITDA, decreased by 30.6% in the fourth quarter of the fiscal year, dropping from ₹1,049 crore in the same period last year to ₹727.9 crore. This decline in earnings resulted in a lower EBITDA margin of 8.8% in the current quarter compared to 12.8% in the previous year. EBITDA represents earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization.
"The board has recommended Final Dividend at 12.50% (₹0.25 per share of ₹2 each) on the paid up share capital of the Company for FY 2023-24. Final Dividend, if declared by the Company in the Annual General Meeting shall be paid/ dispatched within 30 days from the date of Ammal General Meeting," BHEL it said in a BSE filing.
Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) shares closed at ₹319.20 on the BSE, marking a 2.95% or ₹9.15 increase. This gain occurred after the market closed for the day.
