About Birlasoft-Microsoft AI Deal

Birlasoft Ltd, a part of the C.K. Birla Group with a diversified portfolio worth USD 2.9 billion, has taken a strategic step towards fostering innovation and accelerating value creation by establishing a Generative AI Centre of Excellence. 

This collaboration has been made possible through a partnership with Microsoft, as announced through an exchange filing.

The primary objective of the Generative AI Centre of Excellence is to leverage the power of Generative AI and Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service to deliver cutting-edge enterprise solutions across various industries. 

By combining Birlasoft's deep industry expertise with Microsoft's AI capabilities, the center will serve as a hub for research, training, and collaboration between the two entities. This will empower organizations to unlock the full potential of Generative AI, enabling them to develop tailored solutions to tackle complex business challenges.

In specific industries, Birlasoft will use Azure OpenAI Service capabilities for several purposes:

• Manufacturing Sector: Product design, process optimization, quality and defect detection, predictive maintenance, and digital twins.
• Life Sciences and Pharmaceutical Domain: Innovative AI solutions for drug discovery, design, and data augmentation.
• Energy and Utilities Sector: Enhancing field service engagements through Generative AI.
• Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance Domain: Focus areas include automated claims handling, summarizing financial reporting, and improving search capabilities.

In this collaborative partnership, Birlasoft aims to provide education to 500 consultants, equipping them with comprehensive knowledge about generative AI technologies, fundamental principles, and the most relevant industry best practices. Collaborating closely with Microsoft, they plan to develop more than 50 use cases, strategically emphasizing value generation across various verticals and sub-verticals currently supported by Birlasoft.

By undertaking this partnership and establishing the Generative AI Centre of Excellence, Birlasoft is taking significant steps toward delivering innovative solutions and propelling organizations toward success in an ever-evolving business landscape.
