On Thursday, the major equity indices experienced slight losses due to negative global indicators. 

The Nifty finished below the level of 17,650. While there was some selling pressure on shares of banks and financial services, there was some purchasing interest for media, FMCG, and auto stocks. Due to the NSE's weekly index options expiry today, trading was erratic. The barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, decreased 337.06 points or 0.57% to 59,119.72 as of provisional closing. The Nifty 50 index dropped 17,639.85 points (78.50 points) or 0.44%. The S&P BSE Small-Cap index increased 0.47%, while the S&P BSE Mid-Cap index increased 0.32% in the overall market. Positive market breadth was present. 1,839 shares increased and 1,607 shares decreased on the BSE. 143 shares in total remained unchanged.

For the third time in a row, the US Federal Reserve increased its benchmark interest rate by 75 basis points on Wednesday. According to Fed officials' predictions, the next FOMC meeting in November is likely to include a fourth-rate hike of 75 basis points. As a result, on Thursday, the Indian Rupee set a new record low versus the US dollar. The exchange rate for the day's trading sessions has been 80.7450, down from the opening price of 80.2775. 

Suzlon Energy increased 11.59% after announcing that its board will meet on Sunday, September 25, 2022, to discuss and approve the rights issue's terms and circumstances, including the price. After a foreign brokerage apparently started covering the stock with a "buy" rating and a target price of Rs 425, Aptus Value Housing Finance India saw a 6.27% increase. KP Energy experienced a 5% increase after announcing that it has been given the go-ahead to build an 8.1-megawatt (MW) hybrid power plant in Gujarat, which will include both 8.1 MW of wind and 6 MW of solar capacity. 

After the US Federal Reserve increased interest rates and hinted at further increases, shares in Europe and Asia fell on Thursday.
