Domestic indices trade lower, being pulled down by financial and banking stocks.

Investors responded to the Federal Reserve's most recent aggressive move to control inflation by driving down Wall Street indices for a third straight session overnight. Technology stocks took the brunt of the damage, with heavy selling. The Nasdaq Composite Index slumped 1.37%, Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 0.35%, and the S&P 500 lost 0.84%.

Indian headline indices declined as a result of Wall Street's weakness, with financial and banking stocks being the main drags. With all of the banking stocks in the red territory and Bank of Baroda ranking as the sector's biggest loser, the BSE Bankex was the worst-performing index.

At 11:40 am, the BSE Sensex slipped 1.11%, reaching a level of 58,460. The Nifty 50 index fell 1.06% to the 17,443 level. On the Sensex, Sun Pharmaceuticals, Tata Steel and ITC Ltd were the top gainers, whereas Power Grid Corporation of India, Mahindra and Mahindra and HDFC were the market draggers.

In the broader markets, the BSE Midcap index declined 1.09% and was trading at a level of 25,577 while the Smallcap index lost 0.86% and was trading at a level of 29,124.
