Penny Stocks Locked in the Upper Circuit on September 21, 2022

Indian indices remained stable and outperformed global indices after recovering early losses. 

The major Wall Street indices experienced an overnight decline as a US Federal Reserve meeting was anticipated to result in a significant interest rate hike. The shares of Ford Motor Corporation fell more than 12%, marking the company's largest one-day drop since 2011, and some vehicle deliveries were delayed as a result of part shortages.

With the majority of Asian markets down over a percent, all of them were trading lower. In contrast, Indian benchmark indices recouped their prior losses and began to trade in the green. At 11:00 am, the BSE Sensex edged up by 0.02%, reaching a level of 59,731. 

On the Sensex, Hindustan Unilever, Nestle India and Reliance Industries were the top gainers, whereas IndusInd Bank, NTPC Ltd and HDFC were the market draggers. While FMCG and consumer durable stocks attempted to boost the markets, BSE Power and BSE Utilities were the biggest drags. 

In the broader markets, the BSE Midcap index added 0.13% and was trading at a level of 25,974 while the Smallcap index rose 0.10% and was trading at a level of 29,473.
