Penny Stocks Locked in the Upper Circuit on May 11, 2022
Most of the leading global indices witnessed mixed sentiments yesterday amid weak global cues.
Overnight in the US stock market, benchmark indicators S&P 500 and Nasdaq rose by 0.25% and 0.98%, respectively. In India, the State Bank of India has approved raising upto USD 2 billion or nearly Rs 15,430 crore from the overseas market to fund foreign business growth, which can be raised by public offer or private placement of senior unsecured notes.

At 11:00 am, the Nifty 50 was trading at 16,124.05, down by 0.71%. The top gainers in the Nifty 50 pack were HDFC Life Insurance Company, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation and Kotak Mahindra Bank. On the other hand, top losers were Shree Cements, Asian Paints and Hindustan Unilever Ltd. The Nifty Bank was at the level of 34,456.00, down by 0.08%. The top performers trading in the green were Kotak Mahindra Bank, ICICI Bank and Axis Bank. The most affected banks were IDFC First Bank, IndusInd Bank and Bank of Baroda.
Sensex was trading at a level of 53,931.20, down by 0.79%. Whereas, BSE Midcap index was trading at a level of 22,137.94, down by 0.47%. BSE Smallcap index fell by 1.71% and was trading at a level of 25,632.17. The top performers of Sensex were Kotak Mahindra Bank, ICICI Bank and Power Grid Corporation of India. And, stocks pulling down the index were Hindustan Unilever Ltd, Asian Paints and Larsen and Toubro Ltd.
On the sectoral front, most of the indices were trading in red, with BSE Fast Moving Consumer Goods, BSE IT and BSE Teck being the most affected sectors.
