Nifty above 16,500 level, Sensex jumps over 800 points led by Bajaj twins. 

The US Federal Reserve made hints that rate hikes may be slowed down, which caused Wall Street indices to rise dramatically. As a result of positive quarterly reports from Microsoft and Alphabet, the Nasdaq Composite surged by more than 4%. Microsoft and Alphabet both saw their shares skyrocket by over 6%. The Rupee strengthened 14 paise to 79.77 against the US dollar amid the overnight weakness in the US currency.

Indian headline indices began trading with a bang as they followed the strength of the global markets. At 11:45 am, the Nifty 50 was trading at the 16,887.35 level, rallying by 1.48%. On the Nifty 50 index, the top gainers were Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv and Tata Steel whereas; Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, Sun Pharmaceuticals and Cipla Ltd were the top losers of the session.

Sensex was trading at a level of 56,684.69, surging by 1.56%. The top gainers were Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv and Tata Steel whereas; Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, Sun Pharmaceuticals and Bharti Airtel were the top draggers of the session.

Shares of Bajaj Finance and Bajaj Finserv soared over 8%, making them the top gainers on the BSE Sensex after Bajaj Finance reported a 159% increase in net profit for the quarter ended June. Additionally, metal, IT, and real estate companies also witnessed significant gains.
