Penny Stocks Locked in the Upper Circuit on July 21, 2022

IndusInd Bank climbs 5% on strong results while domestic indices are trading flat amid mixed global cues. 

On Wednesday, US equities finished higher, with the Nasdaq up 1.58% on favourable earnings reports. Shares of Netflix Inc surged more than 7% after the company forecasted a return to user growth despite reporting a smaller-than-expected 1 million losses in subscribers in the second quarter.

In contrast, Indian headline indices opened flat, swinging between little gains and losses earlier in the session. At 11:10 am, the Nifty 50 was trading at the 16,569.20 level, advancing by 0.29%. On the Nifty 50 index, the top gainers were IndusInd Bank, Hindalco Industries and Larsen and Toubro whereas; SBI Life Insurance, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Reliance Industries Ltd were the top losers of the session. 

Sensex was trading at a level of 55,540.26, gaining 0.26%. The top gainers were IndusInd Bank, Tech Mahindra and Bharti Airtel whereas; Kotak Mahindra Bank, Reliance Industries and HDFC Bank were the top draggers of the session. 

In relation to the US dollar, the rupee dropped to a new record low of 80.06. The currency is constantly falling due to a strong dollar, rising crude oil costs, and risk aversion in global markets. In other news, Tesla Inc liquidated a big amount of its Bitcoin holdings following turmoil in the cryptocurrency markets.
