The major market indices made significant gains in the morning while trading in a reserved range. 

The feelings were strengthened by encouraging global cues. PSU bank stock ended a five-day losing streak. The S&P BSE Sensex, the barometer index, increased 574.08 points, or 0.98%, to 59,387.06 at 10:28 am. To reach 17,683.75, the Nifty 50 index increased by 149 points or 0.85%. The S&P BSE Mid-Cap index increased by 0.89%, while the S&P BSE Small-Cap index increased by 0.55%, in the overall market.

Market breadth was strong as 1,922 shares increased and 1,113 shares decreased on the BSE. 137 shares in total remained unchanged. Wipro increased 1.9%. In order to assist the Australian government and key infrastructure businesses in navigating the cyber threat landscape, the IT major announced the establishment of Wipro Shelde Australia.
