Penny Stocks Locked in the Upper Circuit on April 26, 2022

At 10.30 am on Tuesday, the benchmark equity indices, i.e. Sensex and Nifty 50 were trading higher amid mixed global cues.

US markets ended on a positive note on the back of gains in technology stocks ahead of release of macroeconomic data. Indian rupee opened 23 paise higher and reached at 76.46 per dollar.

The Sensex was trading at 57,209.15, up by 1.11% and the Nifty 50 was trading at 17,149.25, up by 1.15%.

The top five gainers in the Nifty 50 pack were Bajaj Auto, IndusInd Bank, Tata Motors, Mahindra and Mahindra, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries. Meanwhile, the top stocks pulling down the index were Hindalco Industries, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, and Asian Paints.

BSE Midcap index was trading at a level of 24,466.03, up by 1.29%. The top 3 gainers of the index were Ruchi Soya Industries, Adani Power and Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Company. Each of these scrips gained more than 4%. The top three stocks dragging the index were Gland Pharma, The Ramco Cement and Mphasis Ltd.

BSE Smallcap index was trading at 28,915.41, up by 1.04%. The top three gainers are Mahindra CIE Automotive Ltd, Meghmani Finechem, and Liberty Shoes Ltd. Each of these stocks gained more than 10%. The top three stocks pulling the index down are Future Lifestyle Fashions, ZEE Learn Ltd and Future Supply Chain Ltd. Each of these stocks fell more than 15%

All of the sectoral indices were trading in the green, with BSE Auto as the best performer of the day.
