Penny Stocks Locked in the Upper Circuit on April 25, 2022

Domestic markets tanked on Monday’s opening bell amid weak global cues. At 10:30 am, benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty were trading in red.

The market strength was very poor as only 969 equities increased on the BSE, whereas 2291 declined. There were a total of 143 shares that remained unchanged.

In the morning session, BSE Sensex was trading at a level of 56,652.65. BSE Midcap also slipped and was trading at 24,698.37 levels, while BSE Smallcap index fell and traded at the level of 28,861.12. The only gaining stocks on BSE Sensex were ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Maruti Suzuki and Mahindra & Mahindra. All other stocks were trading in red. And, top losers were Tata Steel, Tech Mahindra and Hindustan Unilever Ltd which were 2% down than the last trading day.

Nifty 50 index has also fallen into red and was trading at 17,003.35 levels. The gaining stocks were Bajaj Auto, ICICI Bank and Hero Motocorp. On the other hand, stocks dragging the index include Bharat Petroleum Corporation, Tata Steel and JSW Steel Ltd.

The Nifty Midcap index is trading at 29,888.70 levels. The top three gainers of the index were Varun Beverages Ltd, Aditya Birla Capital and Polycab India Ltd. Stocks dragging the index down were Tata Communications, Hindustan Zinc and Policybazaar. All the three were down more than 4%.

Nifty Smallcap index was trading at 10,372.60. The top three gainers of the index were GMM Pfaudler, CESC Ltd and Route Mobile Ltd. The top stocks pulling the index down were Sunteck Realty, MMTC Ltd and Brightcom Group Ltd.
