Penny Stocks Locked in the Upper Circuit on April 21, 2022

At 12:30 pm on Thursday, headline indices Sensex and Nifty were trading higher, as the global markets were also trading on the same lines, while major companies are announcing their Q4 results.   

The market strength was good as 2283 equities increased on the BSE, whereas 1003 declined. There were a total of 126 shares that remained unchanged.   

In the afternoon session, BSE Sensex was trading at a level of 57,753.54. BSE Midcap also climbed and was trading at 24,776.28 levels. Likewise, BSE Smallcap index soared and trades at the level of 29,329.45. The gaining stocks on BSE Sensex were Asian Paints, Bajaj Finserv, Reliance Industries, and Infosys. All the scrips were up by more than 2%.  

Nifty 50 index has risen further into green and is trading at 17,342.70 levels. The gaining stocks on Nifty 50 are Coal India, Asian Paints and Bajaj Finserv. On the other hand, stocks dragging the index include Tata Steel and Jindal Steel.  

The Nifty Midcap index is trading at 30563.34 levels. The top three gainers of the index were AU Small Finance Bank, Godrej Properties and Bharat Forge. Only stocks dragging the index down were, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation and Bharat Electronics.   

The Nifty Smallcap index was trading at 10545.70. The top 3 gainers of the index were Angel One, Zensar Technologies and Edelweiss Financial Services. All the scrips were up by more than 5%. The top stocks pulling the index down were JB Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals, PVR and Brightcom Group Ltd.
