Penny Stocks Gainers Today - September 26, 2022

Domestic benchmark indices traded in the red on Monday settling with sharp losses. 

The equity markets traded in a narrow range on Monday but in a negative zone owing to global growth concerns hitting investor sentiment. BSE’s Sensex lost over 1,000 points on an intraday basis and hit a low of 57,038, pulled down by a sell-off on a broad-based level.

Meanwhile, NSE’s Nifty50 fell below the 17,000-mark to hit a low of 16,978. At close, the BSE Sensex froze at 57,145 level, slipping 954 points or 1.6% and Nifty50 at 17,016 level, declining 311 points or 1.8%. HCL Technologies, Asian Paints and Infosys were the top Sensex gainers whereas Maruti Suzuki, Tata Steel and ITC were the top Sensex losers.

In the broader markets, the BSE MidCap index fell 2.84% while the BSE Smallcap index declined 3.33%. At the close of the trading session, Emami, Rajesh Exports and Ajanta Pharma were the top gaining midcap stocks whereas JSW Holdings, Hester Biosciences and Shanti Gears were the top performing midcap stocks. Overall, less than 700 stocks advanced on the BSE, as against nearly 3,000 stocks that declined on the exchange.

On the flip side, buying in IT stocks namely Infosys, HCL Tech, TCS, Wipro, and Tech M tried to trim the losses and pull up the frontline indices from the lows. Metal and Realty were the worst performing sectors contracting more than 4%, while the other sectoral indices closed in a range of 2% to 3% down.
