After a choppy session on Friday, the Indian equity indices closed flat with a slight negative skew.

The sentiment was influenced by negative global cues. The Nifty finished over the level of 17,300. While metal, bank, and financial services shares saw some selling pressure, consumer durables and media companies climbed. The barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, dropped 30.81 points or 0.05% to 58,191.29 according to preliminary closing data. To 17,314.65, the Nifty 50 index dropped 17.15 points or 0.1%. The S&P BSE Small-Cap index increased by 0.30% and the S&P BSE Mid-Cap index fell by 0.15% in the overall market. Market breadth was in the red as 1,951 shares increased and 1,502 shares decreased on the BSE and 100 shares remained unchanged as a whole.

 According to stock market statistics on Friday, Electronics Mart India's initial public offering (IPO) attracted bids for 164.09 crore shares as opposed to the 6.25 crore shares that were on offer (07 October 2022). There were 26.25 subscriptions to the issue.

Titan Company increased by 5.25%. The Tata Group company reported double-digit growth in the majority of its operations, with overall revenues increasing 18% year over year (YoY). Indian Hume Pipe Company saw a 9.43% increase. A letter of acceptance (LOA) for Rs 194.03 crore from the Jal Jeevan Mission Project in Maharashtra was given to the corporation. Shares of RattanIndia Enterprises climbed 7.83% as it announced that it would buy a 100% stake in Revolt Motors, the market leader in electric motorcycles.

Zuari Agro Chemicals increased by 4.07%. The company's board of directors has approved Manish Malik's appointment as a chief financial officer (CFO) and other key managerial positions, effective as of Thursday, October 6, 2022. (KMP). The increase for Datamatics Global Services was 4.98%. To help organisations increase the automation of business operations, Datamatics and Scan-Optics, a leader in intelligent data management and digital transformation, have announced their collaboration.

In advance of the monthly US jobs data, which is likely to influence the Federal Reserve's monetary decision in November, shares across Europe and Asia fell on Friday.
