Penny Stocks Gainers Today - October 17, 2022

The major domestic equity indices completed the day Monday with significant gains, reflecting encouraging global indications.

Investor confidence was increased by the encouraging Q2 results announced by IT businesses thus far. The Nifty 50 index rose during the day after falling as low as 17,098.55, closing close to the day's high of 17,328.55. Shares of financial institutions and banks were in high demand. Media, real estate, and metals equities, however, fell. The S&P BSE Sensex, a gauge index, increased 491.01 points or 0.85% to 58,410.98. To reach 17,311.80, the Nifty 50 index increased by 126.10 points, or 0.73%.

The top Nifty gainers were SBI (up 3.03%), Bajaj Finserv (up 2.10%), Axis Bank (up 2%), NTPC (up 1.94%), and ICICI Bank (up 1.87%). The S&P BSE Small-Cap index increased 0.09%, while the S&P BSE Mid-Cap index increased 0.26% in the overall market. Market breadth was in the red. 1609 shares increased and 1926 shares decreased on the BSE. 166 shares in total remained unchanged.

The benchmark 10-year federal paper in India's yield fell to 7.415 from 7.470 at close in the previous trading session. The value of the rupee relative to the dollar decreased in the foreign currency market. The partially convertible rupee was trading around 82.30, down from its session-ending close of 82.19. Gold futures on the MCX for settlement on December 5 fell 1.19% to Rs 50,280. The US Dollar index (DXY), which measures the value of the dollar in relation to a variety of other currencies, fell 0.40% to 112.86. The yield on US 10-year bonds decreased by 1.48% to 3.947. 

Brent crude for December 2022 settlement increased 43 cents or 0.47% to $92.06 a barrel on the commodities market. All of Europe's stocks rose, and most Asian stocks closed the day higher.
