Low Price Shares locked in Upper Circuit on August 26

While domestic indices lost some of their gains, BSE Metals still gained by over 2%. 

Except for the Shanghai SE Composite index in China, all of the main Asian indices moved higher, reflecting gains in global markets. The SGX Nifty indicated a brighter start for India's broader index.

With significant gains in numerous sectors, the major indices in India started off strong. The shares of Steel Authority of India led the 2% surge in the BSE Metal index whereas FMCG and telecom sector stocks struggled to gain ground.  

At 12:20 pm, the BSE Sensex gained 0.41%, reaching a level of 59,015. The Nifty 50 index advanced 0.48% to 17,606 level. On the Sensex, Titan, Tata Steel and NTPC Ltd were the top gainers, while Asian Paints, IndusInd Bank and Bharti Airtel were the top losers. 

To purchase a 26% additional share in ACC Ltd and Ambuja Cements, Adani Group announced an open offer for Rs 31,000 crore. In other news, the Dalal Street debut of Syrma SGS Technologies was impressive, as the shares were launched for Rs 262 on the BSE, giving allottees a listing premium of around 19%.
