Low Price Shares locked in Upper Circuit on August 10

Domestic indices decline marginally, Sensex drops by 98 points, and Nifty above 17,500 levels.  

The US market downturn was reflected in all the major Asian markets, with Hong Kong's Hang Seng being the biggest loser with losses of around 2%. With a loss of 83 points, the SGX Nifty predicted a dismal start for India's broader index. The domestic indices in India opened lower as expected.

After the company's consolidated net profit (from continuing operations) increased by 86.26% to Rs 641 crore on a 34.2% increase in operating revenue to Rs 3,995 crore in Q1 FY23 over Q1 FY22, Tata Chemicals saw an 8.39% increase.

At 11:17 pm, the Nifty 50 was trading at the 17,503.50 level, declining by 0.12%. On the Nifty 50 index, the top gainers were Apollo Hospitals, ICICI Bank and Coal India whereas Bajaj Finance, ONGC, and Wipro were the top losers of the session.

Sensex was trading at a level of 58,775.04, falling by 0.17%. The top gainers were Sun Pharmaceuticals, ICICI Bank and Larsen & Toubro whereas NTPC, HCL Technologies and Infosys were the market draggers.

As the US dollar remained stable before the release of the US inflation report, the rupee appreciated. In other news, Tata Chemicals announced a boost in its consolidated net profit of over 85% while Bharti Airtel recorded a more than five-fold rise in its consolidated profit to Rs 1,607 crore for the quarter ending June 2022.
