List of Top 10 Penny Stocks: These Shares Gained Up To 9% on Monday, March 14

Today, Nifty Media emerged as the best-performing index whereas Nifty Realty turned out to be the worst-performing index.

The Indian equity market continued with its winning streak while Nifty 50 closed in the green in today's trade with a gain of 240.85 points. It opened at 16,633.70 against the previous close of 16,630.45, which means a gap-up of 3.25 points. Nonetheless, in the latter part of the trading session, it gained and finally closed at 16,871.3. Overall, we saw that in today's trade, there were more stocks that closed in red as the broader market underperformed in today’s trade.

In today’s trade, the best-performing index was Nifty Media as it advanced by 2.45 per cent. This was followed by Nifty Bank, which climbed 2.22 per cent. The worst-performing index in today's trade was Nifty Realty as it plunged 1.69 per cent. Out of the total 10 companies forming part of the index, nine companies closed in red while only one closed in green.

The companies that supported Nifty 50 in today’s trade were Infosys, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, HDFC, and Reliance Industries as together, they contributed around 164.23 points gain in the index. Besides, the companies that dragged the index included ONGC, HDFC Life, Tata Motors, IOC, and HUL. These companies contributed 23.18 points towards the fall of Nifty 50. 

Overall, the market today was in favour of decline. At close, the advance-decline ratio stood at 226:255.
