At 10.30 am on Wednesday, headline indices Sensex and Nifty 50 were trading lower amid weak global cues. Sensex was trading at 55,374.67, down by 872.61 points or 1.55%, and Nifty was trading at 16,573.85, down by 220.05 points or 1.31%.

Majority of Sensex stocks were trading in red. The top 4 gainers were Tata Steel, M&M, Titan Company and Reliance Industries. The top losers were Maruti Suzuki, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Asian Paints and Kotak Mahindra Bank.

The Nifty Midcap 100 index is trading at 28,258.80 and is up by 0.12%. The top three gainers of the index were Oil India, Jindal Steel and Hindustan Zinc. Oil India was up by 9.17% whereas Jindal Steel and Hindustan Zinc are up more than 5% each. Similarly, the top 3 stocks dragging the index were Endurance Technologies, Bank of Baroda and Bharat Forge.

The Nifty Smallcap 100 index is trading at 9,915.10 up by 0.72%. The top 3 gainers of the index were MCX India, KEI Industries and Aegis Logistics. Each of these scrips was up by 5% to 7%. The top 3 stocks dragging the index were Carborandum International, Thyrocare Technologies and Kajaria Ceramics.

Talking about the sectoral indices Finance, Telecom, Auto, Bankex and Realty are down. On the other hand, Metal, Oil & Gas and Power indices along with Utilities traded 1% to 4% higher.
