The Indian equity market collapsed down with a red mark. BSE Realty is the top loser which closed down by 5.94%.

Today, at the beginning of the last week of January 2022, the Indian equity market closed deep down in red. Besides, due to such a fall of the market, all sectoral indices closed negatively.

In today’s trade Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex indices closed deep down by 468.05 points i.e., 2.66% and 1,545.67 points i.e., 2.62%, respectively. Today no stock supported the BSE Sensex index to pull up besides, stocks such as Cipla Ltd and Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Ltd supported the Nifty 50 index to pull up. Whereas, stocks that dragged BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 down were Reliance Industries Ltd, Infosys Ltd, HDFC Bank Ltd and Bajaj Finance Ltd, which accounted for more than 36% of the fall of indices. Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex opened down by 0.23% and 0.02%, respectively from the previous close.

On Monday’s trading session, S&P BSE Realty, S&P BSE Metal, S&P BSE 250 SmallCap Index, S&P BSE Basic Materials, S&P BSE Consumer Durables, S&P BSE Industrials and S&P BSE Energy were top losers. BSE Realty index consisting of stocks such as were Sobha Ltd, Godrej Properties Ltd, Sunteck Realty Ltd, Indiabulls Real Estate Ltd, Macrotech Developers Ltd, DLF Ltd and Prestige Estates Projects Ltd were the top drag.
