List of Top 10 Penny Stocks: These Shares Gained Up To 5% on Thursday, January 27

Today, the Indian market closed down with a red mark. BSE BANKEX is the top gainer whereas, BSE Information Technology was the top loser.

After a positive close in the last trading session, today the Indian equity market closed with a red mark amid a volatile trading day. Besides, the majority of the sectoral indices closed on a negative note whereas some closed positively.

In today’s trade Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex indices closed down by 167.80 points i.e., 0.97% and 581.21 points i.e., 1.00%, respectively. Stocks that supported BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 to pull the index up were State Bank of India Ltd, Axis Bank Ltd, Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. Whereas, stocks that dragged BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 down were Infosys Ltd, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd and Reliance Industries Ltd. Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex opened down by 1.24% and 0.93%, respectively from the previous close.

On a sectoral basis, S&P BSE BANKEX, S&P BSE PSU, S&P BSE Enhanced Value Index and S&P BSE Private Banks were top gainers. BSE BANKEX index consisting of stocks such as Bank of Baroda Ltd, Federal Bank Ltd, Axis Bank Ltd, State Bank of India Ltd, AU Small Finance Bank Ltd and Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd led the pack.

In Thursday's trading session, S&P BSE Information Technology, S&P BSE TECk, S&P BSE Consumer Durables and S&P BSE Realty were the top losers. The Information Technology index consisting of stocks such as IndiaMART InterMESH Ltd, Coforge Ltd, MindTree Ltd, Affle (India) Ltd and Birlasoft Ltd were the top drags.
