List of Top 10 Penny Stocks: These Shares Gained Up To 5% on Friday, January 21

For the fourth day in a row, the Indian market closed down with a red mark. BSE Fast Moving Consumer Goods is the top gainer whereas, BSE Telecom was the top loser. 

On the last trading day of the week, the domestic equity market once again closed down in red. Besides, all sectoral indices closed on a negative note except FMCG, which closed positively.

In today’s trade Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex indices closed down by 139.85 points i.e., 0.79% and 427.44 points i.e., 0.72%, respectively. Stocks that supported BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 to pull the index up were HDFC Bank Ltd, HDFC Ltd, Nestle India Ltd, Hindustan Unilever Ltd and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. Whereas, stocks that dragged BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 down were Bajaj Finserv Ltd, Bajaj Finance Ltd, Larsen & Toubro Ltd, Tech Mahindra Ltd and Infosys Ltd. Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex opened down by 0.80% and 0.71%, respectively from the previous close.

In Friday's trading session only one sectoral index closed on a positive note viz. S&P BSE Fast Moving Consumer Goods. The index consisting of stocks such as CCL Products (India) Ltd, Hindustan Unilever Ltd, Kaveri Seed Company Ltd, Avt Natural Products Ltd, Indo National Ltd and Nestle India Ltd led the pack.

On the flip side, S&P BSE Telecom, S&P BSE Consumer Durable, S&P BSE Capital Goods, S&P BSE CPSE, S&P BSE Industrials and S&P BSE PSU were top losers. BSE Telecom index consisting of stocks such as Sterlite Technologies Ltd, Tata Communications Ltd, Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) Ltd, HFCL Ltd, Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd and Reliance Communications Ltd were the top drags.
