Today, the Indian market closed down with a red mark. BSE Metal Index is the top gainer whereas BSE Realty is the top loser.

On the last trading day of the week, the Indian equity market continued to close on a negative note. The majority of sectoral indices closed on a negative note.

In today’s trade, Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex indices closed down by 43.90 points i.e., 0.25% and 143.20 points i.e., 0.24%, respectively. Stocks that supported BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 to pull the index up were HDFC Bank Ltd, Bajaj Finance Ltd, Larsen & Toubro Ltd and Asian Paints Ltd. Whereas, stocks that dragged BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 down were Reliance Industries Ltd, Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd, State bank of India Ltd and HDFC Ltd.

Among BSE equity indices, S&P BSE Metal, S&P BSE Basic Materials, S&P BSE Utilities and S&P BSE Power are top gainers. BSE Metal consisting of stocks such as Vedanta Ltd, Hindalco Industries Ltd, Hindustan Zinc Ltd, Jindal Steel & Power Ltd, Tata Steel Ltd and JSW Steel Ltd led the pack.

In today’s trading session, S&P BSE Realty, S&P BSE Auto, S&P BSE Diversified Financials Revenue Growth Index and S&P BSE BANKEX were top losers. BSE Realty consisting of stocks such as Godrej Properties Ltd, Prestige Estates Projects Ltd, Brigade Enterprises Ltd, Macrotech Developers Ltd, Sobha Ltd and DLF Ltd were the top drags.
