Today, the Indian market closed up with a green mark. BSE Metal Index is the top gainer whereas BSE Utilities is the top loser.

After the Indian equity market being closed on a negative note since Friday today, the equity market closed with a green mark. Besides, some sectoral indices closed on a positive note while some closed on a negative note.

In today’s trade, Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex indices closed up by 53.15 points i.e., 0.31% and 187.39 points i.e., 0.33%, respectively. Stocks that supported BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 to pull the index up were Reliance Industries Ltd, Bajaj Finance Ltd, Bajaj Finserv Ltd, ICICI Bank Ltd and Tata Steel Ltd. Whereas, stocks that dragged BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 down were Tata Consultancy Services Ltd, HDFC Bank Ltd and HDFC Ltd.

Among BSE equity indices, S&P BSE Metal, S&P BSE Energy, S&P BSE India Manufacturing Index and S&P BSE Sensex 50 are top gainers. BSE Metal consisting of stocks such as Tata Steel Ltd, JSW Steel Ltd, Vedanta Ltd, Hindalco Industries Ltd and Jindal Steel Ltd led the pack.

In today’s trading session, S&P BSE Utilities, S&P BSE Power, S&P BSE India Infrastructure Index and S&P BSE 250 Smallcap Index were top losers. BSE Utilities consisting of stocks such as Tata Power Ltd, Gujarat Industries Power Company Ltd, Reliance Power Ltd, Adani Green Energy Ltd, Rattanindia Enterprises Ltd and Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd were the top drags.
