What is the expense ratio of the HDFC tax saver fund?

The Expense Ratio is the annualised percentage of your investment that the mutual fund manager will charge for management fees. The cost ratio is calculated as a percentage of the fund’s AUM and affects fund returns by that amount. A fund with a lower cost ratio is preferred since a smaller amount of your earnings will be consumed by fees.

Who should invest in the HDFC tax saver fund?

Investors who are interested in putting their money to work for at least 3 years and who, in addition to greater return expectations, want to reduce their taxable income as much as possible can invest in the HDFC tax saver fund. The lock-in period of ELSS funds results in a disciplined, long-term investing by default.

In this manner, investors are able to reap the long-term benefits of compounding. However, these investors need to be prepared not only for the prospect of suffering modest losses in their investments but also for the fact that they will be locked in for 3 years.

What are the benefits of investing in the HDFC tax saver fund?

The HDFC tax saver fund has the advantages of both reducing one’s tax burden and increasing one’s wealth. It comes with a lock-in term of 3 years, while other tax-saving solutions need a minimum of 5 years.

It affords individuals and HUFs a deduction from gross total income for investments in Equity-Linked Savings Schemes of up to ₹1.5 lakhs following section 80C of the Income Tax Act of 1961. As a result, this ELSS fund offers better returns with the shortest lock-in time possible.
